This Privacy Policy describes how Richard Glenn Clark, doing business as Lantern RN ("Lantern RN," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you visit lanternnurse.com or purchase any Lantern RN product (collectively, the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

1. Information We Collect

Information You Provide Directly

When you purchase a Lantern RN product, you provide:

• Your full name (as entered during checkout)
• Your email address
• Billing address
• Payment information (processed by Stripe — we do not store full card numbers)

Information Collected Automatically

When you access Lantern RN products, our systems automatically collect:

• IP address and approximate geographic location
• Browser type, operating system, and screen resolution
• A device fingerprint stored in your browser's local storage (used to enforce per-buyer access limits and detect unauthorized sharing)
• Pages viewed and access timestamps

Information from Third Parties

We receive payment confirmation data from Stripe, including the last four digits of your card, billing address, and transaction status. We do not receive or store your full card number.

2. How We Use Your Information

• Deliver your purchase: generate your unique access code, send your welcome email, and grant access to the materials you purchased
• Process payments: via Stripe (our payment processor)
• Protect our intellectual property: enforce per-buyer device limits, detect and prevent unauthorized sharing, and watermark content with your name
• Communicate about your purchase: send welcome packets, access information, and support responses
• Maintain records: for tax, accounting, and legal compliance
• Improve our products: understand which features are useful and which need work

3. How We Share Your Information

We share limited information with the following service providers, only as necessary to operate the Service:

We may disclose your information when legally required (court order, subpoena, law enforcement request) or to protect our rights, property, or safety, or that of our users.

4. Cookies and Local Storage

Lantern RN uses your browser's local storage (not third-party tracking cookies) to:

• Remember your access code so you do not have to re-enter it during your access window
• Store a device fingerprint used to enforce per-buyer access limits (Tier 2 IP protection)
• Remember your last page in the manual reader so you can resume where you left off

We do not use third-party analytics or advertising trackers. You can clear local storage at any time through your browser's privacy settings, though doing so will require you to re-enter your access code.

5. Data Retention

We retain your information for the following periods:

• Purchase records — seven (7) years, as required for tax and accounting purposes
• Device fingerprints and access logs — duration of your access window plus one (1) year
• Email communications — three (3) years from the date of last interaction

6. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

• Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate information
• Request deletion of your information (subject to our legal record-keeping obligations above)
• Opt out of any non-essential email communications

7. California Residents (CCPA)

California residents have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, including the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to delete personal information, and the right to opt out of the sale of personal information. Lantern RN does not sell personal information.

8. International Users

Lantern RN operates from the United States. If you access the Service from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, which may have different data protection laws than your jurisdiction.

9. Children's Privacy

Lantern RN products are designed for adults preparing for professional teacher certification examinations. The Service is not directed to children under thirteen (13), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under thirteen. If you believe a child under thirteen has provided us with information, please contact us at support@lanternnurse.com so we can promptly delete it.

10. Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your information, including HTTPS encryption for all data in transit, secure payment processing through Stripe, and access controls on stored data. However, no method of internet transmission or electronic storage is one hundred percent secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the Effective Date at the top of this page. Material changes will be communicated by email to existing customers and posted prominently on this page.
